~ Letting Go ~

Standing on the edge of the world,
Her heart heavy with memories unfurled,
She clutches a locket in her hand,
A photo of a love that couldn’t withstand.

The wind whispers tales of the past,
Of a love that wasn’t meant to last,
Tears glisten in her eyes,
As she contemplates saying her goodbyes.

The storm rages in the distance,
Mirroring the turmoil in her existence,
Should she let go and set herself free,
Or hold on to what used to be?

The setting sun paints her in gold,
Highlighting the pain she holds,
But in that moment of beauty and strife,
She chooses to let go and embrace new life.

With a heavy heart and a soul set free,
She releases the memories that haunted thee,
For love can be both a blessing and a curse,
But letting go can be the ultimate reverse.
